Some little updates

Well, my neglected blog audience, here I am. Now that the boys are seldom overlapping in their naps, my time to blog and do pretty much anything is scarce. At this moment the boys are asleep, my scriptures read, Nephi out for the next little bit, and me with the computer and some time to spare, so here, in no particular order, are some things that have been going on lately:
  • Caleb grows ever closer to toddling. He's walking along furniture with no problems, and stands for a few seconds on his own. Also, he is very cute. But also still hardly eating anything other than my milk. Sometimes he chokes down a teaspoon of banana or yogurt, but not much to speak of.
  • We read Blink by Malcolm Gladwell for book club this month. General consensus was that it was some interesting stories strung together, but didn't amount to much more. The question remains - should we act on our initial gut instincts instead of overanalyzing, as he sometimes suggests, or beware of them since they are informed by our underlying prejudices?
  • Last weekend I threw another baby shower, this one with my friend Jen for her sister who just moved to San Diego and is expecting her first baby in a few weeks. Jen is a chef. Throwing a shower with a chef means good food - cucumber canapes, beautiful fruit salad, ginger cookies, Quiche Lorraine. Jen was not impressed with my dull kitchen knives, but didn't think bringing her knives in her carry-on bags on her flight from San Jose would be such a good idea.
  • We had a nice visit with the Moores on Sunday at their new home in Tierrasanta - so glad to have them nearby in San Diego! I also had the good luck of running into Amy and the kids at the zoo yesterday.

Life is normal around here...
