Our excellent Labor Day

Sunday night I sat in bed contemplating what an ideal Labor Day would entail, and pulled out a piece of paper to make a list of anything that popped into my mind. "You really plan your days like that?" Nephi asked incredulously. Anyway, I just sort of jotted down any little loose-end project I've been meaning to get to for a while or that sounded like fun, and guess what? By this afternoon every single one got crossed off!! What a great Labor Day (with a little spillover to Tuesday). So I thought I'd share the list with our blogging audience, just to give you an idea of what our day was like:

1. Hang the mirror in our bedroom (this one's been waiting over two years... wanting neither to wake the neighbors nor to model pounding on the walls for Joseph)
2. Bake bread pudding with all the extra stale bread left over from Enrichment on Thursday (Nephi and Joseph took care of this one)
3. Exercise
4. Wash the dishes
5. Buy a new toothbrush holder (Our fancy-schmancy disinfecting Violight has some design oversights leading to gross scumminess. It has to go.)
6. Buy an additional memory card for our computer
7. Finish off two scrapbook pages I'd been working on (my scrapbooking ruminations are a whole other post...)
8. Fly a kite
9. Laundry (Nephi does a good job carrying it up and down, and Joseph loves to help him put it in the washers and dryers. They both defer to me on folding it.)
10. Pick up some stuff at Michaels and Office Depot
11. Glue our kitchen chairs back together so they don't disassemble every time some poor unassuming guest tries to sit down (why this took us eight months to get to is inexplicable even to me)
12. Watch some US Open tennis - go James Blake!
13. Arrange the plants and doodads over our kitchen cabinets

Hey, quite a list, huh? With two adults present, it was possible to actually finish things! What a great feeling. Plus we just enjoyed being together.
