Another beach day! Saturday we had a ward party at the beach, and we arrived a little early and had some nice family time. Well, not really family time. Caleb snoozed under the sun shade and Mom sat with him, and Joseph frolicked up and down the beach in the surf, and Dad chased and splashed him. Actually, this is how we spent a lot of the ward party, too. Kids can be pretty isolating sometimes. They don't really defer to your social needs or desires, and just take off running even if you're beginning an interesting conversation. It can be frustrating when you are (foolishly) still harboring expectations of meaningful connections with them around. Good thing they're cute and usually fun to be around in their own right.
