Gettysburg and Wilmington

From Ohio, we headed east, and Gettysburg was right on our way. A few weeks before we watched the movie Gettysburg to give some context to the experience, and that was really helpful to enjoying the park. It is a big place and it felt good to walk around after the long drive.

This is the wall at the end of Pickett's Charge, where the Union held off the Confederate troops.

There are a lot of monuments all over the park.

Safety kids! Not recommended with functional firearms.

I memorized the Gettysburg Address and recited it in the cemetery, right next to the place that Lincoln delivered it originally. I really love that Lincoln.

That night we were able to stop at our friends the Fennimore's house in Wilmington, Delaware and spend a Sunday with them. Our kids really loved playing with their kids, and we loved seeing them. And there are so many kids!

They had a slackline in their backyard  that was really fun to play on. It's harder than it looks!
