Christmas with the Nascas

A very long time ago when it was winter and not summertime, we celebrated Christmas. And our celebration started in the middle of December when my parents and my sister Laura and her boyfriend Joe came to visit us for a few days. It was a good time!

We hung out together.

We played iPad geography games.

We ate a lot of good food. (We all ate a lot of food, but I thought I'd put only a picture of my sister under this heading because...)

We opened presents.

Nephi was gone at a conference for a few days (it was preplanned!) and Joe was like the fill-in-Dad. He was so, so nice to the boys, and so fun, and even did all the things that sometimes aren't the most fun parts of being a Dad, like assembling Christmas presents with two hundred parts that don't fit together very well for impatient kids, or getting jumped on, or going sledding.

We went swimming at the famous, eponymous Glenwood Springs Hot Springs one day, the first time we've gone in the five years that we've lived here. It is really fun to swim outside in the warm water in the cold winter air! We meant to get a good photo of us all together, but my sister actually got kind of sick the last day or so and we never were able to quite get it together. So imagine a nice group shot here.
