VERY Exciting news flash

So this is VERY GOOD NEWS! It basically says to feed babies real food! This is a huge relief. Both my boys have been completely unimpressed with anything that comes in those little baby food jars or especially the little rice cereal flakes that are supposedly the ideal first food. I'm no nutritionist, but one look at those white, starchy looking flakes gets me thinking that perhaps they aren't the most nutritious option for my baby. I mean, they look one step worse than Wonderbread. But apparently this is completely not medically sound, merely cultural. And I'm going to go way out on a limb here and guess that perhaps it has something to do with massive propaganda distributed to parents and doctors by baby food companies. Did you know they have little "mini lunchables," complete with that awful "cheese food" for toddlers? The "baby food" isle in grocery stores could take you right through about three years old. So the only thing that's kept me sort of in step with the party line is the worry that introducing foods too early can cause food allergies, which also is not true. Oh, freedom.

So here's the last line of the article:
"So you eat a lot of curry," he says, "try junior on a mild curry."
Amen.
