Today we had a lovely day at Anza Borrego Desert State Park. We went with our friends the MacArthurs and Robinsons to see the wildflower bloom. It was a glorious day - blue desert skies and not too hot. Joseph loved playing in this field of flowers that were just about his height. Even though even at the peak of their bloom there aren't many wildflowers compared to, say, a mountain meadow, there is something especially beautiful in the surprise of something so beautiful and delicate in the harshness of the desert.
