Some things about December

December included a lot of Yahtzee playing by Isaac and Caleb, at all times of night and day, which led to Benjamin doing many adorable imitations of playing Yahtzee himself. He is very convincing that he knows what he is doing and what it all means; he rolls the dice, puts some back, acts happy or disappointed. (Photography by Joseph.)

There was a Santa hat.

There was lots of snow! It's been a few years, I think, since we've gotten as much snow as we did in December. Nephi went out skiing a few times, once a day before the lifts opened which means he walked up the mountain (!!) and then skied down. Benjamin was enamored with all the white stuff, so we dressed him up like a frog and had him shovel our driveway.

He said he thought the frog was seasonally inappropriate and felt a little undignified, so we let him wear more traditional snow gear. But still made him shovel.

Joseph helped him out a bit, actually. Joseph is a champion snow shoveller! On snowy mornings he requests that we wake him up early so he can have some time to shovel before school.
