Visit from Grandma and Grandpa Thompson

We enjoyed a visit from my parents who drove down from Colorado to spend a few days with us and my sister Deann's family. After Family Home Eventing on Monday night, I went with my parents to an organ concert in Balboa Park at the lovely Spreckels Organ Pavilion. Dad especially enjoyed Richard Elliot's rendition of Come, Come, Ye Saints, while Mom enjoyed hearing Mussorgksy's "Pictures at an Exhibition" in its entirety. Afterwards, we enjoyed a stroll down the Prado and appreciated the architecture.

The next day, Dad and I went snorkeling in La Jolla Cove while Mom and Gina put up the wading pool for the boys. It has been hot and humid lately, very uncharacteristic. Later that afternoon, Gina and my parents went to the temple.

Today, we all went to the beach with Deann and the girls.

It was great to be together. We all felt very comfortable and relaxed, and enjoyed our family.
